FINAL ROUND SCHEDULE FOR 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP QUALIFYING TO BE DECIDED BY CONCACAF DRAW WITHIN NEXT 30 DAYS

CHICAGO (Oct. 19, 2012) – The U.S. Men’s National Team will know its Final Round schedule for 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying when CONCACAF holds the hexagonal draw within the next 30 days.

The U.S. advanced to the Final Round of qualifying with a 3-1 victory against Guatemala on Oct. 16 at a sold-out LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan. The United States finished in first place in Group A and advancement to the hexagonal, which will also feature Group A runner-up Jamaica, Mexico and Costa Rica from Group B and Honduras and Panama from Group C.

The Final Round qualifying stage will be played from Feb. 6 through Oct. 15, 2013. The U.S. will look to qualify for its seventh consecutive FIFA World Cup tournament as the top three teams in the hexagonal group automatically advance. The fourth-place team from CONCACAF would face Oceania’s first-place team in a two-game playoff to determine the final country to play in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The U.S. caps off its 2012 schedule when it travels to Russia for an international friendly on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Krasnodar. Kickoff at Kuban Stadium is set for 7 p.m. local (10 a.m. ET), with a live broadcast on ESPN2, ESPN3 and Univision Deportes.
