NEW YORK (Thursday, October 4, 2012) – CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) announced today it has reinstated its working relationship with the English Football Association (The FA) through a Development Partnership created to advance education and football trainings in the Confederation.

As the first initiative between CONCACAF and the FA since this new agreement, the Confederation will be hosting a series of courses, inviting one coach from each of the National Associations to participate in the FA’s International Courses at Foundation and Intermediate levels.

“This initiative is a first step into fulfilling our commitment to promote development in our region,” said CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb. “We shall see great talent emerge from our Confederation.”

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the amateur and professional game in England, FA instructors will select up to four candidates from the Intermediate Courses who will participate on the FA’s Bursary Program at St. George’s Park, England, its new national football center.

The FA’s Head of International Relations, Jane Bateman, said, “The FA is pleased to be working with CONCACAF to assist the development of their coaches. Our Bursary project will give coaches from CONCACAF and other confederations the opportunity to experience the fantastic facilities at St. George’s Park.”
